Black
represents our sinful, dirty hearts.
God loves you. He created us to love Him and to
fellowship with Him. We broke this fellowship when we sinned. In order to
have our fellowship restored, and a home in heaven one day, there are
several important facts you must believe from the Bible.
You must believe that you are a sinner. Sin separates you
from God. Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory
of God;" All means everyone. We have all sinned by disobeying God's
law the Ten Commandments.
Orange
represents the fire of hell.
You must believe the penalty for your sin is hell. Romans
6:23, "For the wages of sin is death;" As a sinner, you are condemned to
spend eternity in hell.
Revelation 21:8, "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and
the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and
idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth
with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." This verse gives us a
list of sinners who will die and go to hell. Are you on this list? We all
are. Everyone has lied. Hell is a lake of fire. It is the second
death. Where would you go if you died right now?
Red
represents the Blood of Jesus.
You must believe that Jesus Christ has already paid the
penalty for your sin. You cannot pay for your sin yourself. Romans 5:8,
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us." God loves you so much that He sent His only
Son Jesus to die on the cross for you, and He arose from the grave after
three days.
John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his
only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but
have everlasting life." He wants to give you eternal life if you will
trust Jesus to be your Saviour.
White
represents our hearts being washed whiter than snow.
Psalm 51:7, "...wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow."
After you are saved, God washes away every sin. He does not even remember
that you had ever sinned. He looks at you as if you were Jesus:
perfect, sinless, spotless. I John 1:7, "...and the blood of Jesus Christ
his Son cleanseth us from all sin." Only His blood can cleanse us from all
our sin.
Romans 10:13, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the
Lord shall be saved." Whosoever means anybody. God will save anyone
and everyone who will trust Him. Call
means a plea for help. If I called 9-1-1 and said, "Help me!
I'm dying!" They would come to save me. Jesus will save you if you call on
Him to be your Saviour. Here is a simple prayer that you can make your
own. "Dear Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. I deserve to die and go to hell.
But, I believe that you died on the cross and rose again for my sin.
Please, forgive me of my sins and come into my heart. Right now, I am
trusting You to be my Savior and take me to heaven when I die. Thank you
for forgiving my sin and giving me eternal life. Amen."
Gold
represents Heaven.
Revelation 21:18, "...and the city was pure gold, like unto
clear glass." Heaven is a beautiful place made of gold. There is no
sickness, pain, or death. It is perfect. The best part of all is Jesus our
Saviour will be there.
John14:2,3 "In my Father's house are many mansions: ... I go
to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I
will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye
may be also." Jesus wants us to be with Him in Heaven. He is making a
special home for each one who trusted Him to be their Saviour. One day He
will come back to earth to take all the believers back to Heaven with Him.
Blue
represents the water of baptism.
Mark 16:15,16, "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the
world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is
baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."
Baptism is the first command that Jesus gives to a new believer. Being
baptized does not save a person just like putting on a wedding ring does
not make someone married.
Acts 8:36-38, "...what doth hinder me to be baptized? And
Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he
answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. ...and
they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he
baptized him." Baptize means to immerse, under water. You may be baptized
after you believe in Jesus in a local New Testament Baptist Church.
Purple
represents Royalty.
Matthew 28:18-20, "And Jesus came and spake unto them,
saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye
therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe
all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway,
even unto the end of the world. Amen." Jesus is the King of kings and the
Lord of lords. King Jesus promised He will always be with you. Hebrews
13:5, "...for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." He
has sealed you with the Royal Seal. II Corinthians 1:22, "Who hath also
sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts." This seal
is proof that we are the Royal or Divine property of Jesus. That gives us
peace.
Jesus has also given us a Royal Command. We must go and tell
the world the Good News of salvation. We must tell everyone we know how He
will save them and give them the victory over sin, death and hell.
Green
represents growing or maturing.
Everything alive grows. Grass grows. Trees grow. II Peter 3:18, "But
grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen." God does not expect us to
instantly know everything about the Bible. However, He does want us to
increase in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We cannot
be like Jesus if we do not know what Jesus is like. We will grow by
reading our Bible, praying, going to church, and obeying God's Word. You
cannot see trees or plants growing, but if you measured it everyday, you
would see growth. It is wonderful that God takes us just like we are, but
He wants us to grow and tell others about
Jesus. |
